| "Rhett" came to me
shortly after his 2nd birthday. His breeders are Donita and Don McCarty
of ScenicVu Boxers,
in Maryville, TN. I was looking for a flashy fawn dog to show in
conformation and obedience, and Rhett fit the bill perfectly. He
had 3 pts towards his championship when I got him, and I was able to put
a couple more points on him myself before sending him out with Jack Brown
in January of '99. Rhett finished in only 2 1/2 months of showing,
gaining a 5-pt major along the way. At ABC that year, I showed him
in BOB and was very pleased to have made the cut 3 times. He is a
natural and loves to show. I only regret not being able to afford to special
him like he deserved.
As a sire,
Rhett is
proving to be a dominant one, passing on his smoothness, squareness,
and
correct movement along with strong, correct heads and toplines.
His
pigment and rich color, which he also passes on, is incredible to see
and
merits comment wherever he goes. As he aged, Rhett remained
very smooth in body and head, and other than getting grey in his
muzzle, did not show his age. August 3rd,
2006 I had to say goodbye to my old man. He bloated during the
night and an x-ray at the vet confirmed a very severe twist and the
prognosis for surgery and recovery was extremely poor, due to the
severity of the problem and his age. I owed it to him to end his
suffering. Rhett was 3 weeks shy of his 10th birthday, and a
loyal companion for 8 years. I could not have asked for a better
dog, and the house seems empty without him here. I am thankful to
have his grandson with me to carry on Rhett's legacy. LIMITED FROZEN SEMEN AVAILABLE
Feel free to ask about his previous holter results!
